I bought this book when I first started learning the Guzheng as almost all Guzheng books are in Chinese. My Chinese is not that good. This book is in English so it is much easier to understand the basics of Guzheng playing. I am still waiting for future book volumes to be out.

Really good resource! Really good for beginner beginner players (like me). A lot of other beginner books are a bit too challenging, this one is very thorough and aimed at students with no previous experience. Author also has youtube videos you can use to supplement the book which is really nice. The author is a great player/teacher. Definitely would recommend it.

I own several beginner’s guzheng books, but “Bei Bei’s Easiest Guzheng Course” is the most straightforward and simple to follow. If I had to select one book to give to someone just starting out with the guzheng, it would definitely be this one. It breaks down everything very simply and gets you playing immediately while still providing foundational exercises to build your technique from the ground up. I won’t say you shouldn’t use other books – in fact, I encourage you to try a few out and see what works for you. I actually use other books alongside this one to reinforce the lessons. But this is definitely a good book to start with and is my personal favorite if you want to get right into things without skipping over the important parts of learning the guzheng.
